Some of you know that I collect robots as a hobby. In fact I have one of the Sony's first Aibo dogs which I purchased from the Tech Museum in San Jose, Ca. But I must admit that this one scares the hell out of me. RUR is alive and well.

Obama fan ? NOT

March 26, 2008

Senator Obama – there was a nice pretty package; too bad the contents aren’t what was advertised on the box. First warning signs were his wife’s comments about how bad things were. Bill Clinton had enough sense to say he felt your pain; he didn’t say he shared it. Then how this was the first time she had been proud of her country. Umm, excuse me? Mrs. Obama, you went to Princeton and then Harvard Law, you are earning $300,000+ a year; what do you have to complain about?

Second was when old Rev. Jeremiah came popping up like a ghost in Dickens – the Ghost of Sermons Past. The sermons that were for sale on the church website so you could buy the DVD and share in the official Trinity United Church of Christ Hour of Hate. Hate whitey, hate the country, damn the country, it is our fault 9/11 happened, etc, etc. How the heck do you explain hanging out with the Reverend for twenty years, calling him your spiritual mentor? I’m sure some people bought the explanation, because they want to Belieeeeve, unfortunately Occam’s Razor points us to the simplest explanation: Rev. Wright is a racist, and you Senator Obama are at best a crypto or closet racist. In one way I am glad this happened. For years whenever we have had to have a ‘conversation on race’ in this country it has always run along the same route – from slavery to Selma, Alabama, rinse and repeat.

Bad joke

March 27, 2008

A man died and went to Heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the pearly gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked, "Why are all those clocks here?" St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock move." "Oh," replied the man, "very interesting. .. whose clock is that?" "That's Mother Teresa's clock," answered St. Peter. "The hands have never moved, indicating that she has never told a lie." "Incredible! " exclaimed the man. "And whose clock is that one?" St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved only twice, telling us that Abe has told only two lies in his entire Life." "Where's Democrat Kwame Kilpatricks clock?" asked the man. "Kwame's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan.

When in England at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by

the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example

of empire building' by George Bush.

He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the United States has sent many

of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom

beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in

return is enough to bury those that did not return.

Expert: "We're brainwashing our children" about global warming

William Gray, the well-known Colorado State University hurricane forecaster, routinely uses the annual National Hurricane Conference as a platform to bash global warming. In a statement to Florida Today, Gray argued that the scientific consensus on global warming is bogus — and "a mild form of McCarthyism has developed toward those scientists who do not agree" that mankind is in danger.
