Watching the Washington Post

January 2, 2005

Reporters John F. Harris and Robin Wright did a number on President Bush regarding his response to the Tsunami tragedy claiming his response was tardy. These typical east coast Bush hating liberals still don't get it. They want to blame him for everything: Global warming, the liberation of Iraq, Islamic terrorist ect. ect. ect.. Where the hell does the Washington Post find these minimally brained reporters?

Mayor Guido and his administration gets five stars from me for the way they enforced the ordnance to remove cars from the street before a major snow storm.

Last week hundreds of tickets were issued in Dearborn to the slackers, who are either too lazy or don't give a damn to remove their cars from the streets during a snow storm.

Yes, many citizens complain. Screw them. They were violating the law, and deserve the tickets they got after being warned several times.

So congratulations Mayor Guido and a big thank you from all of us who removed our cars.

Now, Mayor, make sure there is a follow up that these tickets are paid.

Moving on

January 9, 2005

Recently Kurt Krug, reporter for the Dearborn Times Herald, left his position and is now working for the Delphi Corporation. Kurt sent me this Thank You letter that I would like to share with you:

Dear Russ,

when I had the opportunity to interview Mort Crim when he left his spot as the premier anchor at Channel 4 in 1997, I asked him what he was probably asked numerous times: Why leave now?

He told me that it's better to leave on top when people don't want you to go rather than leave when everyone wants you to go. Made sense.

I thought about what he said when I resigned in mid-December from the Dearborn Times-Herald, the weekly newspaper where I have been employed since late September/early October of 2002.

I never imagined that I'd get the outpouring of emotion that I did from the community, especially from the educators in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights whom I've covered in my tenure at the Times-Herald. In fact, at my final school board meeting, Dr. Mazzara of HFCC made a public announcement that I was leaving the newspaper, which elicited well-wishes from the school board members, including Dr. John B. Artis.

The education community made working at the newspaper a pleasure. And with what's going on in education, the dull moments have been few and far between.

And as I move on, I will not forget the people in this community who welcomed me with open arms, including Russ Gibb, Andrea Awada, Dr. Andy Mazzara, Mayor Michael Guido, Kevin Harris, Barbara Parker, Gordon Bremenkampf, Kurt Doelle, Pam Wandless, Marge Horvath, Albertra Muirhead, Dr. Ernie Minghine, Tracy Lambert, Susan Brown, David Mustonen, Pam DeNeen, Ann Knoop, and countless others (I'm sorry I couldn't name you here because of the limited space I have to write, but I haven't forgotten you).

Thank you for all of your efforts. I'll be sure to drop in from time to time and say hello.

Sincerely,

Kurt Anthony Krug

Dearborn's best market, the Westborn Market, is having a wine event! Seems this coming Thursday January 13th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. They are having Mr. David Mirassou who comes from a family that has been making wines for 150 years. So if you have any questions about the fine art of wine making and drinking head over to Dearborn Westborn Market this coming Thursday.

Mary Mapes Fired at See.B.S. Television

January 10, 2005

Mary Mapes, the democratic party mole at CBS, was terminated today for her major roll in the "cock and bull" story about President's Bush service in the Texas National Air Guard.

Ms. Mapes is also the one, who pushed and drove the story on the abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison. Another See BS story that the liberal media and the democrats are still stroking.

Now that Ms. Mapes BS has finally caught up with her, maybe the New York Slime, the Washington HoHo Post and the LALA Times will give her a job. Come to think of it, maybe even the "we're in denial" democratic party will give her a job. She is very good at snow jobs.

Holy War

January 17, 2005

Funny, how the liberal media i.e. The New York Slime, The Washington HOHO Post and the LALA Times have been bending over backwards NOT to report that over 15 000 Christian Iraqis have left Iran since this summer after Islamic terrorists bombed five Christian churches. Now, for an encore, the Muslim Islamic crazies have kidnapped an Iraqi Roman-Catholic archbishop. Sounds to me like an Islamic/Christian holy war. What do you think?

Poor Democrats

January 19, 2005

Pity the poor democrats. They still don't get it.

There they were on TV working over Condoleezza Rice about so called abuse of Iraqi prisoners. Yet, nowhere did they spend any time commenting about Islamic Muslim terrorist abuse.

It seems to me that cutting heads off and blowing up innocent citizens is a form of abuse that the democrats should be investigating.

Sad to see that democrats blowing themselves up.
