I'm disappointed Russ. Why all of the sudden have you gone soft? What fun will your site be if all of the teachers have to post their names to complain about their boss'? You mean they will be treated like the rest of us? By the way, there are other ways to know how many different aliases someone is using...

As aways a great show you have not lost your touch. As we begin once again to elect another evil industry into the White House I notice are fine friends the Democrats are taking the side of it's the Republicans fault about the war. I thought it would be interesting to see how many voted to go to war including our fair lady miss Hillary Clinton who is now a staunch advocate against the war. Maybe if you have time you could touch upon this subject one day in your show. Thanks

Good point on the over-postings, Russ. I have caught myself trying to post multiple times (caught in a tit-for-tat with someone who disagrees with me). From now on I will post my thoughts and respect others thoughts. I do agree with some of your friends who say that you are a "closet republican". But, what's wrong with that? Both parties have their own hidden agendas anyway. I try to keep an open mind when voting and judge each candidate individually these days myself. I also do not care to post my real name because I own a business in the community and I do not care to intertwine the two (political views and making a living). As far as posting your real name goes, I also feel that is somewhat irrelevant. The views are what is important, not the person saying them. In almost all blogs and chat rooms people use anonymous names to protect their privacy. I doubt that most of the people complaining about "fake names" use their real names in their blog postings either. Either way, good webcast and excellent website!
PS A lot of Democrats did vote for the war. This was partly because they were given what has been proven to be mis-information.

Regarding the "for a couple of thousand dollars I could find out", "there are other ways to find out", and "whoever you are" I would like to clear a few things up for those who of you who do not know (or pretend to know) a little about the IP address etc. With todays technology it is actually very hard to tell exactly who somebody is simply by viewing their IP address. There are Blackberrys, Treo's, Palm Pilots, work computer networks, wireless access points everywhere, and IP address "scramblers". Given all of these examples I do not know how anyone can tell who somebody is. I'm sure that some people who post here post from many different places, making it near impossible to tell if someone is making multiple postings. The comment about "there are other ways" is ridiculis (although was said to intimidate) unless they are actually receiving the email/post themselves. This would be like receiving a letter in the mail, taking it out of the envelope, and handing it to someone and expecting them to tell you where it was sent from. You wouldn't be able to. People simply need to express their own opinions, respect other peoples, and go about their business without constantly going on the attack. I remember when Russ did leave the IP address next to each post and I for one am happy he stopped. This way, people can concentrate on what's being said, rather then whom said it.

Russ,

Thanks for the webcast. While I find it hard to believe that anyone mistakes you for a Democrat, and I often disagree with you, I am very pleased that you provide this forum and that you do allow competing viewpoints. I learn a lot about local politics (I don't live in Dearborn, but I work there) that you just don't hear anywhere else.

Thanks for being here, even if I don't ever mistake you for a democrat!

You're right Russ, they will not fire Artis. The board rarely takes action when they should. I keep hoping that stem cell research will allow medical science to grow backbones for the board and the administration of the DPS. Too often administrators refuse to take a stance and stand their ground. They are too afraid of making mistakes. They should be more afraid of the mistake of inaction. Emerson told us, "Speak what you think today in words as hard as cannonballs, and tomorrow speak what tomorrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict everything you said today."

PS Give your dog a pat on the head for me.

Hello Russ.

Hope all is well with you and Alberta. Christina (my much better half)and I and the DHS Thespians want to thank you for the plug for our upcoming production of West Side Story. For the record, we did the show back in 1980, 27 years ago, when you played Doc and Christina was Shark and me a Jet, among that cast of 50 plus.

For the record, West Side Story opens at Dearborn High School on Thursday, March 29th at 7:30 pm with additional performances on Friday and Saturday, March 30th and 31st, also at 7:30 pm and Sunday, April 1st at 3 pm. Ticket information is available at 313-827-1647. I hope you and Alberta can see the show.

And as for getting the 1980 cast together, I think they have spread to the four corners of the country but we can try. Oh..and thanks for the compliments. Very kind but unnecessary.

thanks, Greg

Fire Artis?

Why doesn't the School Board find a new Superintendent first? Then rest assured they will figure out the next obvious, way overdue action.
